Abstract

With the outbreak of the conflict in Gaza after the attacks of October 7, 2023, support for Israel and Palestine divided the world. In Brazil, the position on the conflict has become a fundamental ideological marker, impacting the perceptions and strategies of political and social actors. This article analyzes the political-partisan and public opinion dimensions of the polarization surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, drawing attention to its effects both on foreign policy and on the rise of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in the country.
