Abstract

This article discusses the main issues regarding the diplomatic rhetoric and the Brazilian foreign policy towards South America, such as regional trade, infrastructure integration, and political concertation. Based on survey data from the research project Brazil, the Americas and the world (Cebrap, 2017), we analyze how leaders and the mass public see those same issues. Finally, we point out possible pathways for a renewed Brazilian regional foreign policy.
