Roles of Think Tanks in a New Transactional World: New Horizons from the Amazon to the Himalayas

Abstract

This article discusses the outcomes of expanded think tanks cooperation in the G20 during the past decade after 2024 showcased a rise of populism and climate fatigue across the globe. The authors highlight lessons learned that may benefit the COP 30. Out of their complementary background and experience, they propose original ways to revive multilateral exchanges and build people-oriented solutions interconnecting world scale ecosystems.

Dean and CEO of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and a professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo.
